Broadway Box Office: Week 19: 10.01 - 10.07.12

Broadway Box Office
Week #19 of the 2012 - 2013 Season
October 1- 7; 24 Productions

The two new shows this week, Annie and The Heiress, are highly anticipated revivals, with the latter starting out very well, debuting at number 11 out of 24 shows.  The same top 7 shows are, as usual fighting it out for position.  This marks the first week in some time that Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark has dropped out of the top 10.  Evita, Bring It On and An Enemy of the People posted significant drops on the chart.  BUT what is interesting about that is that only Enemy posted a significant loss in attendance, down over 11%.  The only other show that went down in attendance was Grace down less than 1%.  Every other show posted gains in Gross, and only because they sold every possible ticket last week, too, The Book of Mormon is the only other show that didn't gain in attendance.  Chicago made the biggest overall gain.  i have to admit that I'm surprised that Once held its own with Tony-winner Steve Kazee out last week on vacation.  Perhaps that bodes well for the show itself, post-Kazee.
