10 Years Ago Today: Urban Cowboy

Tonys: 2 nominations, including Best Score with 30 composer/lyricists listed!
Who's Who 10 Years Later: Director Lonny Price Master Harold...and the Boys, 110 in the Shade; Stars Matt Cavenaugh (West Side Story, Grey Gardens, A Catered Affair) and Jenn Colella (High Fidelity, Chaplin) made their debuts in Urban Cowboy.  Supporting actors included Sally Mayes (Steel Magnolias - understudy) and Leo Burmester, most famously Broadway's original Thenardier in Les Miserables, made his final appearance on Broadway in Urban Cowboy.  He passed away in 2007.  Interesting fact: more than half the cast have not returned to Broadway since the show closed.
Broadway Babies: In the ensemble were: Michael Balderrama (Ghost, In the Heights, Hot Feet); Lisa Gajda (Taboo, Spamalot, The Times They Are A-Changin', Cry-Baby, Pal Joey, Finian's Rainbow, Elf, Catch Me If You Can, Chaplin); Justin Greer (Shrek, Anything Goes, The Mystery of Edwin Drood); Adinah Alexander (Wicked, The Wedding Singer, Kinky Boots); Josh Rhodes (Choreographer - The Drowsy Chaperone, Cinderella, First Date)
